Inadequate stocking. Productive forest land that has been denuded and has failed partially or completely to regenerate naturally or to be artificially regenerated. The regeneration must contain a minimum number of well-established, healthy trees that are free-from-noncrop-competition and sufficient to produce a merchantable timber stand at rotation age.

Terrain forestier productif qui a été déboisé et dont la régénération totale, soit naturelle, soit artificielle, n'a pas réussi. Le peuplement régénéré doit comprendre un nombre minimal d'arbres sains bien établis susceptibles de produire un peuplement exploitable, à l'âge de rotation.

OBS

Dans certaines provinces, les terrains forestiers qui ont été l'objet d'une coupe et qui ne sont pas classés comme étant d'une densité relative satisfaisante sont dits d'une densité relative insuffisante. Ce classement ne signifie pas nécessairement qu'un nouveau traitement est nécessaire pour corriger la régénération déficiente.
