The Premium Reduction Program reduces unemployment insurance premiums for employers who have approved salary/wage replacement plans for their workers who are absent for reasons of illness, injury or pregnancy. To receive a reduction, the employeur must satisfy the Commission that it will be shared with the workers covered by the plan in the same proportion as the UI premiums are paid.

Le programme de réduction du taux de cotisation permet aux employeuses et employeurs ayant établi à l'égard de leurs travailleuses et travailleurs un régime d'assurance-salaire qui remplit les conditions requises visant les absences pour raison de maladie, blessure ou grossesse de bénéficier d'une réduction de leur taux de cotisation d'assurance-chômage s'ils établissent, à la satisfaction de la Commission, que cette dernière sera partagée avec leurs travailleuses et travailleurs dans une proportion correspondant à celle des cotisations d'assurance-chômage versées.
