Sur la variété Lloyd George, qui semble être la plus sensible, le virus produit un rabougrissement des plantes atteintes, dont les pousses se ramifient et montrent une croissance buissonnante et une tendance nettement accentuée à la fructification automnale. Les autres variétés paraissent immunes. (...) Le virus est disséminé par le pollen. Il peut être transmis par inoculation mécanique à diverses plantes herbacées, produisant des symptômes particulièrement nets sur Chenopodium amaranticolor.
