The Scientific Advisory Committee on Anti-Infective Therapies (SAC-AIT) provides Health Canada (HC) with timely scientific, technical and medical advice related to the regulation of anti-infective drugs. Involvement of the scientific and medical communities in regulatory decision-making is expected to enhance transparency and provide opportunity for proactive external guidance, thus greatly improving the drug review process. The committee provides HC with advice and recommendations, but the decision-making responsibility remains with HC.

Le Conseil consultatif scientifique sur les traitements anti-infectieux (CCS-TAI) fournit, en temps opportun des avis scientifiques, techniques et médicaux à Santé Canada concernant la réglementation des thérapies anti-infectieux. La participation des communautés scientifique et médicale aux décisions réglementaires devrait améliorer la transparence et permettre une contribution externe proactive. Le processus d'examen des médicaments s'en trouvera ainsi amélioré. Le conseil transmet des avis et des recommandations à Santé Canada, mais la responsabilité décisionnelle incombe au Ministère.
