The malignant transformation of synovial chondromatosis is rare but this diagnosis must be established to perform appropriate treatment. Other possible diagnosis are ... secondary synovial chondromatosis developed into chondrosarcoma. We don't have histologic criteria to confirm this diagnosis in all cases.

Le chondrosarcome peut être synovial ou osseux avec développement intra-articulaire. La libération de cartilage normal ou encore tumoral pourrait induire une chondromatose synoviale secondaire.

chondromatose synoviale: [...] métaplasie du tissu synovial caractérisée par la production de nodules cartilagineux qui se pédiculisent et se détachent pour former des corps étrangers libres dans l'articulation [...] Il s'agit d'une affection monoarticulaire dont on distingue une forme primitive (environ 10 % des cas) et une forme secondaire.
