Sistema de representación en el que los números binarios son representados por un bit para el signo y el resto de bits para el número.

OBS

Normalmente el bit situado más a la izquierda en una palabra se usa para indicar el signo (0 para +, 1 para -) y los bits restantes se utilizan para representar la magnitud del entero; el bit situado más a la izquierda se le llama "bit de signo".
