Elections Canada, backgrounders. During federal elections and referendums, Canadian Forces electors can vote, by mail or at polling stations set up in their units, using a special ballot. This method of voting is governed by the Special Voting Rules, Part 11 of the Canada Elections Act. These electors may also vote at civilian polling stations in the ridings where they are registered, provided they are residing there at the time of an electoral event.

Lors d'élections et de référendums fédéraux, les électeurs des Forces canadiennes peuvent voter, par la poste ou à un bureau de scrutin établi dans leur unité, au moyen d'un bulletin de vote spécial. Ce mode de vote est régi par les Règles électorales spéciales, partie 11 de la Loi électorale du Canada. Ces électeurs ont aussi l'option de voter au bureau de scrutin civil dans la circonscription où ils sont inscrits, à condition d'y résider au moment du scrutin.
