Sous l'effet du séchage et de la pression, certaines fibres se soudent entre elles [...] L'industrie des non-tissés par voie humide met généralement en œuvre des fibres artificielles et synthétiques le plus souvent non fibrillées et très hydrophobes, et la cohésion des fibres doit être effectuée grâce à un liant dispersé avec les fibres. Les fibres et le liant sont véhiculés par l'eau jusqu'à la toile de réception. [...] Les non-tissés obtenus par voie humide font l'objet de constantes améliorations [...] Les non-tissés voie humide mettent en œuvre principalement des fibres artificielles et synthétiques (viscose, polyamide, polyester, alcool polyvinylique, polychlorure de vinyle, verre).
