OBS

A collection, processing, testing, and storage facility for tree and shrub seed. The long-term goal is to store representative samples from throughout the natural ranges of all Canadian tree and shrub species. The Centre provides seed of known origin and quality for research purposes to researchers around the world. An active participant in genetic conservation of tree and shrub species native to Canada. Research and development of processing and germination testing methods and procedures. The Centre has seed from about 100 Canadian tree and shrub species as well as over 100 exotic species for a total of over 11000 individual seed lots.

Un établissement dont l'objectif à long terme est d'entreposer des spécimens représentatifs en provenance de tous les territoires naturels de toutes les espèces canadiennes d'arbres et d'arbustes. Un centre qui fournit aux chercheurs du monde entier, pour leurs travaux, des semences d'origine et de qualité connues. Un intervenant actif dans le domaine de la conservation génétique des espèces indigènes d'arbres et d'arbustes du Canada. Un centre de recherche-développement dans le domaine des méthodes d'essai de traitement et de germination. Un centre qui possède des semences d'une centaine d'espèces d'arbres et d'arbustes canadiens et plus de 100 essences exotiques, soit plus de 11 000 lots de semences distincts.
