The goal of Canadian Internet Project (CIP) is to present a snapshot -- an informed Canadian perspective -- of the ways our world has been transformed by the adoption of the Internet, the maintenance of a traditional media diet, and the continuing proliferation of emerging technologies. Exploring the interrelationship between these three elements and their assimilation into the everyday lives of Canadians -- sometimes ubiquitous and seamless, at other times relentless and disruptive -- tells much about the behaviour and attitudes of Canadians in the context of the changing media environment.

L'objectif de Recherche Internet Canada (RIC) est de présenter un aperçu, une perspective canadienne éclairée, des façons dont notre monde s'est transformé depuis l'adoption de l'Internet, du maintien d'un régime de médias traditionnels et de la prolifération constante des technologies émergentes. Explorer la corrélation entre ces trois éléments et leur assimilation dans la vie quotidienne des Canadiens, qui sont parfois omniprésents et transparents, et d'autres fois implacables et perturbateurs, en révèle énormément quant aux comportements et attitudes des Canadiens dans le contexte de l'environnement en constante évolution des médias.
