The Dominion Abitibi Band in the Province of Quebec had not previously held a reserve, and 100 acres in the Township of Dalquier in the District of Abitibi were purchased with band funds to be developed as a residential site.

OBS

"Quebec group" of the Lake Abitibi band became known as the Dominion Abitibi band. The Dominion Abitibi band is now known as the Abitibiwinni (or Pikogan) band and the "Ontario group" of the Lake Abitibi band is now known as the Wahgoshig band.
