A draft law containing the expenditure estimates of all the departments of the government.

After Cabinet approval, the Main Estimates are printed up in a form usually referred to as the Blue Book and tabled in the House of Commons ... The [spending] estimates for the various departments are then given to an appropriate standing committee of the House of Commons to be considered in detail. The committees then report back to the House of Commons and the estimates of all the departments are passed through parliament as one bill like any other piece of legislation. When this Supply Bill has passed through parliament and been assented to by the Governor General, it becomes (an) Appropriation Act ...

Supply bill; appropriation bill: Officially approved by the Management Committee for the BCF (budgetary, accounting and finance) Glossary. Use of these terms is mandatory in Canadian government texts.

Once a supply bill has passed through parliament and been assented to by the Governor General, it becomes an appropriation act.
