[The CIE system of colorimetry] permits the specification of tristimulus values X, Y, and Z, which make almost the same predictions about color matches as do calculations based upon cone action spectra. If, for fields 1 and 2, X[sub-one] equals X[sub-two], Y[sub-one] equals Y[sub-two], and Z[sub-one] equals Z[sub-two], then the two stimuli are said to match (and therefore have the same color) whether they are physically the same (isometric) or different (metameric). 1, fiche 1, Anglais, - metameric

"Metamerism" or "segmentation", is the regular repetition of body parts along the anteroposterior axis. The body of segmented animals is composed of a longitudinal series of divisions in each of which all or most of the body systems are represented, either by entire paired organs or parts or by a portion of the median unpaired structures. Each such division of the body is termed a metamere. 2, fiche 4, Anglais, - metamere
