The noun carat refers to a unit of mass for precious stones.
- In 2008, a massive 478-carat white diamond was discovered in a South African diamond mine.
A caret refers to a proofreader’s mark.
- The caret, which looks like an upside-down V, is a proofreader’s mark used to indicate where a character or word should be inserted.
A carrot is a commonly grown root vegetable.
- Carrots contain a high amount of Vitamin A.
A karat is the unit used to specify the gold content of an alloy.
