future plans

Redundancies are words that unnecessarily repeat information. Because plans can be made only for the future and not the past, the modifier future in the familiar phrase future plans is redundant.

  • As we make plans (not future plans) for the merger, we would like to ensure that our business partners and clients are protected.
  • The accident disrupted Brad’s plans (not future plans) for a career in modelling.
