Redundancies are words that unnecessarily repeat information. Achievement refers to successful effort, and achieve means to successfully complete an action. Therefore, the modifiers successful and successfully in the familiar phrases successful achievement and successfully achieve are redundant.

  • Few teachers believe that students can achieve (not successfully achieve) high marks without studying.
