CAMA is an Aboriginal, non-profit organization which seeks to increase the understanding of the minerals industry and Aboriginal community's respective interests in lands and resources. Through increasing this awareness, all parties will benefit. CAMA acts as an intrument for the advancement of Aboriginal community economic development, mineral resource management and environmental protection. CAMA was formed out of the need expressed by Aboriginal communities. Their priorities are the environment, exployment and training, and economic development. La Canadian Aboriginal Minerals Association (CAMA) est un organisme sans but lucratif, contrôlé et administré par un groupe de neuf directeurs autochtones. La CAMA s'efforce d'accroître la connaissance des intérêts respectifs de l'industrie minière et de la collectivité autochtone à l'égard des terres et des ressources. L'augmentation de la sensibilisation sur ce plan profitera à toutes les parties. La CAMA contribue à la promotion du développement économique des collectivités autochtones, de la gestion des ressources minières et de la protection de l'environnement. La CAMA a été mise sur pied par suite d'un besoin exprimé par les collectivités autochtones. Les priorités de ces dernières sont liées à l'environnement, à l'emploi, à la formation et au développement économique.
