A ramrocket engine combines a rocket-cycle with a ramjet cycle. The "heart" of such a rocket-based combined-cycle engine is the ejector where the propulsive streams of both cycles mix. The propulsive efficiency of the ramrocket will greatly depend on the losses incurred in the ejector of the engine. In this project, computational fluid dynamic methods are employed to numerically simulate the turbulent mixing of supersonic/subsonic flows in the presence of finite-rate kerosene/air combustion. The effects of geometry of the ejector and afterburning in the rocket exhaust on flow losses in the ejector and its compression ratio are explored. The ramrocket is a candidate for "next generation" air-breathing reusable space launchers 2, record 3, English, - ejector

The spatial relevance of mass thermotransport property measurements in liquids. Among the classes of mass-transport phenomena in liquids, thermal diffusion (the Soret effect) is related to a particularly large number of scientifically and technologically pressing questions. From [an] industrial point of view, whenever multiconstituent liquids are submitted to long-lasting temperature gradients, they are liable to experience thermal diffusive flows, modifying the distribution of the species concentration. Among the cases where this effect has been emphasized, we can mention the elaboration of high technology materials (solidification of semiconductors), the production or purification of light metals (electrolysis of aluminium, lithium, etc) and the optimization of petroleum extraction (by modelling of the hydrocarbon distribution in the reservoirs). 2, record 8, English, - thermodiffusion

5, record 8, French, - thermodiffusion
Record number: 8, Textual support number: 2 CONT
