In biological systems, biomolecules can bind specifically and reversibly to their complementary substances. The specific and reversible binding effect is called affinity interactions and the complementary substances are termed affinity ligands. Affinity chromatography(AC) is an adsorptive chromatography based on the affinity interactions with immobilized affinity ligands on a solid matrix. 4, record 1, English, - affinity%20chromatography

Chemical matrix effects occur when the presence of one element affects the emission characteristics of another element. This can complicate calibration of the technique and hence the ability to obtain quantitative results. These effects can be compensated for in the analysis if the concentration and effect of the interfering element(s) are known.... An example of a chemical matrix effect is the reduction in emission intensity of an ionized species... upon a significant increase in the concentration of an easily ionizable species in the matrix. 2, record 3, English, - chemical%20matrix%20effect

To investigate the tooth development in the none-tooth bearing area, the tooth germs were transplanted into the toothless gap, diastema of the developing mandible. Also to study the effect of growth factors on the tooth development, BMP [bone morphogenetic protein] was added during culture period. After periods of in vitro and in vivo culture, the transplanted tooth germ in the toothless gap area showed bioengineered tooth with supportive structure formation. In BMP treated group, the bioengineered tooth was observed with increased maturation of cusp and enamel matrix, which suggest possibility of controlling of bio-engineering of the tooth in morphogenesis even in toothless area. 3, record 4, English, - bioengineered%20tooth

3, record 4, Spanish, - biodiente

The performance of all the Voyager Workstations is improved by addition of our proprietary Delayed Extraction(DE) technology. By introducing a time delay between ionization of the sample and extraction of the ion from the source, adduct ions can be separated from the ion of interest prior to entry into the flight tube. This is especially important for analysis of oligonucleotides and glycoproteins, which tend to bind to matrix molecules. The effect is a reduction in chemical noise. Higher signal-to-noise ratios are achieved along with greatly improved resolution. 3, record 5, English, - delayed%20extraction%20technology

In many cases the presence of an insoluble or even soluble carrier matrix may become an insuperable obstacle for the enzyme to perform its function in the organism. In such cases investigators have used bifunctional reagents to stabilize enzymes by intramolecular crosslinking. As a rule these attempts have had only limited success, based on trials with many enzymes.... The matter is complicated by the fact that the bifunctional reagent can interact with the enzyme in three different ways : one point modification, intermolecular linking, and intramolecular crosslinking. The observed stabilization effect can be explained easily by a simple modification to the enzyme or by changes in the microenvironment as a result of the modification. 1, record 9, English, - bifunctional%20reagent

... the contributions to the depositions or ambient concentrations at a series of receptor areas of interest from a series of specified source regions can be displayed conveniently in matrix form. This format of presentation is called a "transfer matrix" because each element of the matrix expresses, quantitatively, the physical relationship between a specified receptor area and a specified source area for the species and variable of interest. One can thus relate source to receptor, or "transfer" the effect of a change at source to the receptor. 1, record 10, English, - transfer%20matrix
