Radiation damage in solids … Because the particles … have different energies and different ranges, the distance from the site of formation to the region where they cause damage is different. Thus, the size of the fissile kernels itself(also called inclusions) embedded in the inert matrix material becomes an important factor in determining the regions of damage in a material. To this end a distinction is made between a microdispersed and a macrodispersed fuel. A fuel is called microdispersed if the size of the fissile inclusions is less than 10 [micrometers], and otherwise is called macrodispersed. Microdispersed fuels can be produced either by infiltration or by compression of a mixture of matrix grains and fissile grains, while macrodispersed fuels can be produced by compression only. The damage effects in microdispersed fuels will approach those in a solid solution, while the radiation effects in macrodispersed fuels will mainly occur in the inclusions themselves and in a thin matrix layer around the inclusion, predominantly due to neutron damage. 1, record 3, English, - microdispersed%20fuel

Method based on the covalent attachment of enzymes to water insoluble matrices. It is the most widespread and one of the most investigated approaches to enzyme immobilisation. The selection of conditions for immobilization is more difficult than in the cases of the other carrier binding methods described, and frequently involves more complicated and less mild conditions than the other methods, but, since covalent bonds are being formed, stable immobilized enzyme preparations which do not leach enzyme into solution in the presence of substrate or high ionic concentration solutions are formed in almost all cases. The immobilization of an enzyme by covalent attachment to a support matrix must involve only functional groups of the enzyme that are not essential for catalytic action, and therefore no reagents must be used which could affect the binding and active sites of the enzyme. 2, record 6, English, - covalent%20binding

The component scores for each day are computed and the 2873 by 6 data matrix are used in the clustering analysis. To determine the number of clusters that are [used] in the k-means procedure, the pseudo-F and pseudo-T2 statistics are used as guide lines(Davis and Kalkstein, 1990). The pseudo-F statistic describes the ratio of between cluster variance to within cluster variance. Peaks in the pseudo-F statistic are indicators of greater cluster separation. Pseudo-T2 quantifies the difference between the two clusters that are merged at a given step. Thus, if a given cluster(k) solution gives a jump in the pseudo-T2 statistic, than the k+1 cluster solution in selected as the optimal cluster. Any cluster represented with more than 20 percent of the total number of days would then be sub-clustered. 1, record 7, English, - pseudo%2DF%20statistic

Matrix interference or bulk interference is caused by either a change in viscosity of the solution or by a large excess of extraneous ions... the absorption of a given concentration of an element in organic solvents can be as much as four to five times higher than the aqueous solution of the same concentration aspirated into the flame. Many workers have also suggested matching the standards and samples with materials that are present in excess of 1 %. 1, record 13, English, - matrix%20interference

1, record 13, French, - interaction%20due%20%C3%A0%20la%20matrice
