A transdermal therapeutic system(TTS) comprising an active substance which is sensitive to hydrolysis, and having a layer-like structure comprising a backing layer impermeable to moisture and active substance, a matrix comprising the active substance, and optionally a protective layer covering the matrix is characterized in that the matrix contains a water-binding component [which] may be of mineral or non-mineral nature. One embodiment further provides for the matrix or one of its layers to contain an acrylic-acid ester copolymer, a polyisobutylene, an ethylene-vinyl-acetate polymer, or styrene-isoprene block polymer, or a synthetic isoprene-isobutylene copolymer, or a hot-melt adhesive. 7, record 1, English, - copoly%28isobutylene%2Fisoprene%29

Skin tolerability and adhesion characteristics of a new matrix patch and a marketed reservoir patch for estradiol delivery. The objective of this study was to examine skin tolerability and adhesion of a new matrix transdermal system(patch) compared to a marketed reservoir system.... The matrix patches showed stronger adhesion but harder and more uncomfortable to remove. However, most women did not report troublesome discomfort upon removal of either system. In conclusion, a new matrix system shows better skin tolerability and stronger adhesion compared to a reservoir system. The matrix system may be more difficult and slightly more uncomfortable to remove. 1, record 2, English, - matrix%20patch

Deux solutions pourraient venir faciliter l'administration du TSH : des «patchs matriciels» à action prolongée (1 semaine) apparaissent. Et les «patchs» mixtes oestroprogestatifs?
