Subject field(s)
  • Chemical Elements and Compounds
Universal entry(ies)
OBS

4-amino-5-chloro-N-[2-(diethylamino)ethyl]-2-methoxybenzamide monohydrochloride: The capital letter "N" must be italicized; form recommended by the IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) for the systematic name corresponding to the CAS number indicated on the present record.

OBS

metoclopramide hydrochloride : International nonproprietary name(INN) of the World Health Organization(WHO).

OBS

The capital letter "N" and the prefix "o-" must be italicized.

OBS

The prefixes "ortho-," "meta-" and "para-," along with their corresponding abbreviations ("o-," "m-" and "p-"), appear in italics and are ignored in alphabetizing. According to the actual chemical nomenclature rules in organic chemistry (in 2003), the numbers designating the positions of the disubstitution groups (1,2- for "ortho-," 1,3- for "meta-" and 1,4- for "para-") are to be preferred to the symbols "o-," "m-" and "p-." Furthermore, the prefixes "ortho-," "meta-" and "para-" should not be used anymore, and their corresponding abbreviations ("o-," "m-," and "p-") will soon be judged to be avoided, if not totally condemned.

OBS

An escape analgesic is an analgesic used by a test subject for relief not provided by the drug being tested.

OBS

If the migraine symptoms had worsened, patients were offered an escape analgesic combination of 1000 mg paracetamol and 10 mg metoclopramide. [Naproxin sodium in the treatment of migraine; Cephalalgia, March, 1985, 5(1), p. 5-10)

OBS

There was no difference in the relief of pain between the three treatments under the conditions of this trial were paracetamol was allowed as an additional escape analgesic. [Floctafenine (Idarac) in the management of rheumatoid arthritis. [Rheumatol. Rehabil., Nov. 1977, 16(4); pp. 260-4]
