In an anchorage where there is little or no current or tidal stream, and in reasonably calm weather, a ship may be pointed to lie at an angle with the line of her cable by putting a spring on her cable. First heave in a shackle or so of cable. Now lead a hawser [...] out through the aftermost quarter fairlead, then for’ard and outboard of all, and shackle it with a joggle shackle to the cable outboard of the hawsepipe, thereby forming a spring. Then belay the hawser and veer the cable, and the ship's head should pay off away from the side on which the spring is rove until pointing in the required direction. Alternatively the hawser may be brought to an after capstan and hove in as the cable is veered. 2, record 1, English, - after%20capstan

Pension rights give rise to special difficulties in questions of spousal support. Under the Ontario Family Law Act, R. S. O. 1990, c. F. 3, a pension right must be valued as a capital asset that is an entitlement to a future income stream. After retirement, the pension changes from a capital asset into an income asset. When the pension is in pay, in a sense, the pension asset is being liquidated. 2, record 2, English, - pension%20right

1, record 2, French, - droit%20de%20pension%20de%20retraite

Fixed income funds invest in debt securities like bonds, debentures and mortgages that pay regular interest, or in corporate preferred shares that pay regular dividends. The goal, typically, is to provide investors a regular income stream with low risk. Fund values will go up and down to some extent, particularly in response to changes in prevailing interest rates. 2, record 3, English, - fixed%20income%20fund

3, record 3, French, - fonds%20%C3%A0%20revenu%20fixe

Career streams are generic jobs at two or more levels, but unlike the progression stream there is no "working level" defined. Promotion between levels is not automatic when the employee meets or exceeds objectives. Rather, each career stream has its own promotion criteria. These criteria will include the demonstration of the ability to carry out the work at the higher level and may include the availability of work at the higher level. When the criteria are met an employee can be promoted without a competition. 1, record 4, English, - career%20stream

3, record 5, French, - accumulation%20alluviale
