... the keratin plug can take weeks to form and can be expelled from the teat in response to increased intramammary pressure in the late dry period, thus weakening the innate defensive capacity of the teat canal and rendering the quarter vulnerable to IMI [intramammary infection]... To overcome this challenge, producers often inject an internal teat sealant(ITS) into the teat canal and teat cistern of quarters at the time of dry-off to establish an immediate, robust barrier to pathogens. As inert pastes, ITS products have excellent persistence as barriers throughout the dry period... 3, record 1, English, - internal%20teat%20sealant

Normal thermal stratification of a pond, if it is to occur, generally begins in May or early June and ends in September or early October. Ponds can stratify because water attains maximum density at 39°F. It becomes less dense(lighter in weight) both above and below 39°F. Soon after the ice melts in the early spring, the water temperature throughout the pond rises to 32°F. Winds blowing across the pond's surface cause the water to pile up on the downwind side. The water moves downward, across the pond bottom, to the upwind side. The entire pond begins to circulate from top to bottom, maintaining a uniform temperature. As long as winds are strong enough, the pond temperature will remain uniform, even as the pond begins to warm during spring. This is a period known as "spring overturn. " 5, record 4, English, - spring%20overturn
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 2 CONT
When surface water reaches 39 degrees in spring, it becomes heavier than the water immediately below it and therefore sinks. The downward movement of surface water forces water in the deeper parts of the lake upward. The resulting circulation of water is called spring turnover. Spring winds also help promote water circulation. 2, record 4, English, - spring%20overturn
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 OBS
turnover: A phenomenon usually occurring in spring and fall because of the increase in density of water above and below the temperature of minimum density. In the spring, as the surface of the water warms above the freezing point, the water increases in density, becomes heavier, and tends to sink, producing vertical currents, while in the fall, as the surface water becomes colder and therefore heavier, it also tends to sink. The custom of secondary burial, or ossilegium, predominates throughout the Roman period. When the reinterred remains of individuals are buried in small containers known as ossuaries, most scholars are inclined to think of this phenomenon as being associated with Jerusalem.... [The] Precession/Nutation Card... provides the digital logic for spin sectoring, precession commands, active nutation control and engine mode selection. The current sector status(position) is maintained and updated throughout each spin cycle. This logic information on the spin status is interfaced with both the precession command logic and active nutation control logic. In the precession logic the current sector status is compared with a ground command consisting of three parts : sector ID to start firing a precession thruster, sector ID to stop firing a precession thruster and the number of consecutive spin cycles during which the precession jet will be fired. 2, record 8, English, - precession%20command

Of the ministère des Transports of Québec. This policy deals with the selection of pavement types. It covers a five-year period and is a core component of our road system management policy. Comprehensive in approach rather than project-based, it set outs the most appropriate types of pavement for roads under the Department's jurisdiction. The analysis methodology it stipulates is a thorough, proven approach based on consistent, verifiable parameters and a transparent development process throughout. The new policy, which replaces the Policy on the Construction and Maintenance of Cement Concrete pavements in force since 1995, allows greater consideration of new technologies and road work requirements through its integrated approach under a comprehensive Québec pavement management framework. Implementation of this policy must fit with road work planning strategies and the Department's financial capabilities. In drawing up this new policy, the Department met with representatives of the concrete and asphalt industries as well as the Association des constructeurs de routes et grands travaux du Québec(Québec' s road builders’ association) in order to take their views into account. 1, record 9, English, - Departmental%20Policy%20on%20pavement%20type%20selection

1, record 9, French, - Orientation%20minist%C3%A9rielle%20sur%20le%20choix%20des%20types%20de%20chauss%C3%A9e

In New England, at least one killing frost and preferably a substantial period of normally cool weather must precede this warm spell in order for it to be considered a true Indian summer. It does not occur every year, and in some years there may be two or three Indian summers. The term is most often heard in the northeastern United States, but its usage extends throughout English-speaking countries. It dates back at least to 1778, but its origin is not certain; the most probable suggestions relate it to the way that the American Indians availed themselves of this extra opportunity to increase their winter stores. The comparable period in Europe is termed the Old Wives’ summer, and, poetically, may be referred to as halcyon days. In England, dependent upon dates of occurrence, such a period may be called St. Martin's summer, St. Luke's summer, and formerly All-hallown summer. 4, record 10, English, - Indian%20summer

8, record 10, French, - %C3%A9t%C3%A9%20des%20Indiens
