It started Chinese meals on wheels service in Chinatown, Toronto... services grew from single meals on wheels service to a range of home support services. [The organization's name changed to] Chinese Seniors Home Support Services Association. In 1992, it was approved as a member of the Unied Way of Toronto, and renamed as the Chinese Seniors Support Services Association.

Calgary Meals on Wheels is a not-for-profit organization established on November 15, 1965, in response to an official request to the United Church Women by the Hospital Chaplaincy Committee of the Calgary Presbytery of the United Church, who expressed concerns that elderly people living alone were being discharged from hospitals with no support system during their convalescence.

Meals on Wheels of Winnipeg works closely with other agencies to provide services. Staff work closely with representatives of Home Care, both in the community and in hospitals. We work with Employment and Income Assistance of Manitoba, the Public Trustee of Manitoba, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and other similar agencies. Our mission : Nutritious meals delivered by volunteers to those in the community unable to prepare or otherwise obtain them.
