L'axe vertical ou [lacet] : Une ligne imaginaire verticale à travers l'intersection des axes longitudinal et latéral. La rotation autour de l'axe vertical est appelé [lacet] et est contrôlé par le gouvernail de direction. Cette rotation est nommée le contrôle directionnel ou la stabilité directionnelle.
