Les termes «Internet» et «Net» ne s'accordent pas en genre et en nombre avec le nom qu'ils qualifient (une adresse Internet, des sites Internet). «Internet» s'emploie sans article (faire une recherche sur Internet); par contre, «Net» est toujours précédé de l'article «le» (trouver des images sur le Net). Les deux termes s'emploient avec la préposition «sur» (naviguer sur Internet, consulter un site sur le Net).

Internet: El Diccionario panhispánico de dudas, de la Real Academia Española, indica que predomina el uso de Internet con mayúscula y sin artículo en el mundo hispanohablante. Agrega que si se usa precedido de artículo u otro determinante, es preferible usar las formas femeninas (la, una, etc.), por ser femenino el nombre genérico "red". Adhiere a este uso también el Vademécum de la Fundación del Español Urgente.

Internet: Internet y Web, a pesar de ser conceptos muy próximos, no son sinónimos. La Web es un sistema comprendido dentro de Internet y usa ésta como medio de difusión. El uso muchas veces no reconoce esta diferencia y emplea estos conceptos indistintamente.

Red: Cuando "red" hace referencia a Internet, es posible verla escrita con mayúscula para distinguirla de otras redes. Lo mismo sucede cuando se usa para referirse a la "World Wide Web".

Term uttered by the net judge to indicate that a serve has touched the net. Point is replayed.

Be aware of the following distinction: If the ball touches the net on a service, the net judge will call "net", or sometimes "filet" in the French Open. The umpire, however will call "let", since "let" is the only official call he is allowed to make under this circumstance. Nonetheless this distinction is not always respected in social play in the absence of officials and where informally one hears expressions such as "two", "take two" or "play two", i.e. take two serves since the first one touched the net (and landed in), or "take one", "second serve", i.e. take only one serve since the first one touched the net and landed out.

Au service, on le remet au 1er ou 2e service, du moment que la balle était tombée bonne (après avoir touché le filet), dans le carré de service; en toute circonstance, si la balle est bonne, rejouer; on dit net pour interrompre le jeu si l'on n'est pas prêt. Balle net à remettre si le joueur gêné dans l'exécution de son coup par quelque chose ne dépendant pas de son contrôle.

On ne dit «net» qu'à propos d'une balle de service qui touche la bande du filet. Mais le fait de rejouer le point est appelé un «let». Normalement c'est le juge de filet qui dit «filet» ou «net» et l'arbitre ordonne un «let». S'il n'y a pas de juge de filet, l'arbitre devrait annoncer «net-let». Habituellement, il se contente de dire «let». Dans tous les cas autres que le service où il faut rejouer un point, la balle est annoncée «let». Comparer avec «let» et «filet».
