Universal entry(ies)
DEF

A ruminant mammal of treeless parts of western North America that resembles an antelope [and represents the single living species of the Antilocapridae family].

OBS

The pronghorn is the only animal that annually sheds and renews the sheaths of its permanent horns. While it keeps only the bone plugs on the head, the horn sheath over them detaches every year.

OBS

pronghorn antelope (antilope); American antelope (antilope): Although the pronghorn and the antelope belong to the same order, Artiodactyla, the pronghorn belongs to the Antilocapridae family, unlike the antelope, gazelle, etc. which belong to the Bovidae family.

Entrée(s) universelle(s)
DEF
