Linoelaidic acid is the all-trans fatty acid homolog of linoleic acid. Trans-fatty acids are generally not detected in raw food oils, but constitute up to 25% of the unsaturated fat in partially hydrogenated oils.

OBS

(9E,12E)-octadeca-9,12-dienoic acid: The capital letters "E" must be italicized; form recommended by the IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry).

OBS

The capital letters "E" and the prefix "cis" must be italicized. The word "trans-" must be italicized when used as a prefix, as in «9-trans-12», but not when it forms an integral part of a word, as in "transoctadecadienoic," where it does not play the role of a prefix.

OBS

linoelaidic acid: trivial name, to be avoided.

OBS
