Marconi Avionics is now offering a portable, knee-mounted or hand-held Automatic Map-Reader (AMR) for helicopters and other vehicles fitted with a navigation computer. (...) The AMR accepts position information in UTM, Grid or geographical co-ordinates and displays the position numerically and [has] the intersection of two lines etched on rotating discs.

La société Marconi Avionics annonce qu'elle est à présent en mesure d'honorer des commandes importantes pour son lecteur automatique AMR, qui n'est pas à proprement parler un équipement entièrement nouveau mais auquel elle vient d'apporter divers perfectionnements: réalisation dans un nouveau matériau plastique très résistant, poids ramené à 2,4 kg, incorporation d'un afficheur alphanumérique, alimentation logée dans un boîtier de petites dimensions contenant également l'interface.
