El principal objetivo de esta cinta espantapájaros es ahuyentar a las aves para que no se acerquen a los árboles frutales y no destruyan su cosecha. Esta cinta ahuyenta las aves tanto por sonido como por luz. Las aves se asustan con el ruido metálico que produce [la cinta] al moverse con el viento. Por otro lado, la cinta refleja la luz, produciendo unos reflejos y sombras que asustan a las aves.
