Une annexe aux directives, la «Liste des points de contrôle pour les Directives pour l'accessibilité aux contenus Web 1.0» présente les points de contrôle par ordre de priorité pour une consultation aisée. Non seulement ces directives facilitent l'accès aux pages aux personnes handicapées, mais elles produisent aussi l'effet secondaire présentant l'avantage de rendre les pages plus accessibles à tous les utilisateurs - ou aux utilisateurs de différents navigateurs ou d'un des nouveaux assistants personnels ou ordinateurs à reconnaissance vocale.
