Sulphonated polystyrenes. The great majority of cation exchangers in current use consist of these products. They are all obtained in the same way: Copolymerization of styrene and divinylbenzene in emulsion form to obtain perfect spheres on solidification; Sulphonation of the beads thus obtained.
