The last stage of scallop culture before harvesting, where scallops are raised in bottom or suspended culture to market size; final grow-out begins when scallops have a diameter ranging from 25 to 60 mm (depending on the culture method chosen) and lasts until they reach the commercial size of 90 to 100 mm.

OBS

The general term "grow-out"[or] "growout" , is quite frequently used in place of the more specific term "final grow-out", which follows intermediate grow-out or culture.

OBS

The term "adult culture" is much less used than the other terms designating this notion.
