In shear spinning (hydrospinning, floturning) the deformation is carried out with a roller in such a manner that the diameter of the original blank does not change but the thickness of the part decreases by an amount dependent on the mandrel angle.

Procédé de mise en forme à froid de pièces métalliques axisymétriques de faible épaisseur, par application et déformation d'un flan plat ou d'une ébauche sur un mandrin tournant.

OBS

Le fluotournage est une opération spécifique de repoussage au cours de laquelle le métal flue le long du mandrin, alors que durant le repoussage au tour la pièce conserve l'épaisseur du flan. Les termes fluotournage et repoussage au tour sont donc des spécifiques par rapport au terme repoussage et à son équivalent anglais «spinning».
