This gravity gradient stabilized satellite was designed and built by the University of Surrey AMSAT Group and launched from the USA into a circular 700 Km high Quasi-Polar 98 minutes period orbit.

Satellite muni de deux longs bras terminés chacun par une masse, l'un dirigé vers la Terre, l'autre à l'opposé.

OBS

La masse la plus proche de la Terre étant soumise à une attraction plus forte que celle qui en est le plus éloignée, les bras sont maintenus dans la même position. En principe, l'amplitude des oscillations ne dépasse pas 1° en tangage et 3° en embardée.
