Defined benefit Registered Pension Plans (RPPs) are sometimes established for one main income earner, generally an employee of a corporation that he or she controls. Sometimes a spouse or other family member (who is employed by the corporation) is also added as a member of such a plan. Un régime de pension agréé (RPA) à prestations déterminées est parfois établi pour le principal soutien d’une famille, qui est généralement un employé d’une société qu’il contrôle. Il peut aussi arriver qu’un conjoint ou un autre membre de la famille (qui est employé par la société) soit également ajouté à titre de participant de ce régime.
