CONT

A life income fund is a fund established under a contract entered into by a financial institution duly authorized for that purpose and a purchaser who is a former member, a member or the spouse thereof, and under the terms of which the institutions, in return for the capital that it receives, must pay the purchaser an income of which the amount may vary annually.

CONT

English

Subject field(s)
  • Immunology
DEF

A lymphoid factor which promotes long-term maintenance of embryonic stem cells by suppressing spontaneous differentiation.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Immunologie
CONT

Record 6 2009-02-17

English

Subject field(s)
  • Lasers and Masers
  • Electronic Warfare
CONT

LIF is a process whereby molecules/atoms are excited to higher electronic energy states via laser absorption and subsequently fluorescence; the intensity of this fluorescence is, in general, a function of the species concentration (number density), and the gas temperature and pressure.

OBS

A technique for the detection of transient reaction intermediates.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Masers et lasers
  • Guerre électronique
CONT

Record 9 1993-03-11

English

Subject field(s)
  • Immunology
DEF

A lymphokine that inhibits migration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes.

CONT

Leucocyte Migration Inhibition Factor (LIF) has a similar action to MIF but with wider cell specificity.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Immunologie
DEF
