horaire flottant : Les sources consultées ne s'entendent pas sur la définition de ce terme. Méta (1976, volume 21, numéro 3, page 206) dit que cette appellation décrit le très haut degré de liberté accordé à l'employé puisqu'il est libre de répartir ses heures de travail sur une base mensuelle ou hebdomadaire. La source WEIIN (1980, page 210) et KAHOR (1973, page 53) l'assimilent à l'horaire flexible et les sources QTM-2 (1976, page 188) et RLFHO (1975, page 7) le donnent comme synonyme d'horaire décalé. La source RLFHO indique en outre que, comme on confond souvent ce type d'horaire avec l'horaire variable, il est préférable de le désigner en anglais «fixed flexible working hours».
