Código que consiste en una combinación o configuración de agujeros, perforados a lo largo de una cinta o tira de papel. Según sea el número de pistas de la cinta las posibilidades de codificación variarán al permitir mayor o menor número de perforaciones sobre una misma fila vertical. Las cintas más comunes son las de 5 y 7 pistas.
