Le tactisme est aux animaux ce que le tropisme est aux végétaux. C'est un déplacement d'un animal s'approchant ou s'éloignant d'un facteur vivant ou non-vivant dans le milieu. Le tactisme entre dans la catégorie des comportements innés.

OBS

Les principales causes de tactismes positifs (attraction) ou négatifs (répulsion) sont la lumière, la chaleur, le courant électrique, la composition chimique des eaux, les odeurs. Certains de ces agents créent un champ : un animal peut nager vers la lumière sans recevoir plus d'énergie. D'autres créent un gradient : l'odeur du papillon femelle, une phéromone qui attire les mâles, augmente la proximité.
