VARIOMETER [3 records]

Record 1 2013-03-28

English

Subject field(s)
  • Scientific Instruments
DEF

An instrument for measuring inductance, consisting essentially of an inductor with two or more coils whose relative position may be changed to vary the inductance.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Instruments scientifiques
DEF

Record 2 2013-03-28

English

Subject field(s)
  • Magnetic and Electromagnetic Prospecting
  • Geophysics
  • Geological Research and Exploration
  • Measurements of Magnetism
DEF

An instrument for measuring variations in the intensity of the Earth's magnetic field.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Prospection magnétique et électromagnétique
  • Géophysique
  • Recherches et prospections géologiques
  • Mesures de grandeurs magnétiques

Spanish

Campo(s) temático(s)
  • Prospección magnética y electromagnética
  • Geofísica
  • Investigaciones y prospecciones geológicas
  • Medida del magnetismo
CONT

Record 3 2006-05-19

English

Subject field(s)
  • Skydiving, Paragliding and Hang Gliding
DEF

A device that indicates when the glider is rising or sinking.

CONT

A vario or variometer is an instrument which a pilot uses to tell when he is climbing. The vario senses slight changes in air pressure (pressure decreases with altitude) and indicates climbing with a tone and/or a display. Varios are often incorporated into instruments which also include altimeters and airspeed indicators.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Parachutisme, parapente et deltaplane
CONT

CONT

Support variomètre parapente. Protège efficacement votre vario contre les chocs.
