The Bolduc House was built in 1770 by Louis Bolduc, a Canadian lead miner, merchant, and planter. The house and its stockade fence exemplify the vertical log construction favored by the French in this region.

OBS

Il y a, en gros, deux techniques de construction. Celle dite, à « colombage » où les planches sont verticales, et la technique « pièce sur pièce » où les planches sont à l'horizontale. Dans tous les cas, les ouvertures sont petites pour éviter les pertes de chaleur, car rares sont les colons qui peuvent s'offrir des fenêtres avec des vitres qui viennent de France.
