Founded in 1987 with support from the Ministry of Citizenship of Ontario and contributions from members of the Vietnamese community across Canada, the Vietnamese Canadian Centre, located at 249 Rochester Street, Ottawa, was established for the following purposes: to provide a focal point for activities of the Vietnamese community in the National Capital Region; to serve as a resource centre on Vietnamese culture and on issues related to the resettlement and integration of Vietnamese refugees and immigrants in Canada; to provide a national office for the Vietnamese Canadian Federation, an umbrella organization of the Vietnamese community in this country.

Le Centre vietnamien du Canada offre des services d’orientation et de réinstallation aux immigrants d’origine vietnamienne, afin de les aider à s’intégrer à la société canadienne. Le centre offre également des services de counselling aux aînés, aux adolescents et aux familles, met à leur disposition des locaux destinés aux activités récréatives et sociales, et offre aux chercheurs, gouvernements, agences de services sociaux et autres intervenants des renseignements et de la formation au sujet de la culture vietnamienne.
