Title of a form of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). WADA is responsible for the preparation and publication of The Prohibited List (List): an International Standard identifying Substances and Methods prohibited in-competition, out-of-competition, and in particular sports. The use of any Prohibited Substance by an athlete for medical reasons is possible by virtue of a Therapeutic Use Exemption.

There a 2 kinds of TUEs : the Abbreviated TUE and the standard TUE.

Athletes need to complete a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) application form and have it signed by their National Paralympic Committee (NPC) and a doctor. The IPC [International Paralympic Committee] Medical Committee reviews each application and subsequently notifies the athlete whether or not they can use the medication.
