ENROBE DENSE [2 records]

Record 1 2017-02-14

English

Subject field(s)
  • Road Construction Materials
DEF

Plant mixes that must be spread and compacted while at elevated temperature. To dry the aggregate and obtain sufficient fluidity of the asphalt (usually asphalt cement), both must be heated prior to mixing - giving origin to the term "hot mix".

CONT

Historically, asphalt has been a road-paving material ... It can ... be used as a hot or cold mix blended with stone, slag, sand, or gravel aggregates before it is spread on the prepared base.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Matériaux de constr. (Voies de circulation)
DEF

English

Subject field(s)
  • Road Construction Materials
OBS

Dense-graded aggregate: Mineral aggregate uniformly graded from the maximum size down to and including sufficient mineral dust to reduce the void space in the compacted aggregate to exceedingly small dimensions approximating the size of the dust itself.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Matériaux de constr. (Voies de circulation)
DEF
