A mushroom of the family Coprinaceae.

OBS

Cylindrical, shaggy-scaly, white cap turning inky from liquefying gills. Cap (3-5 cm) wide, (4-15 cm) high; cylindrical, gradually expanding as gills liquefy, leaving only stalk; dry, covered with flat scales becoming down-curled; white with light reddish-brown scales. Gills: free or nearly so, very crowded; white, becoming black and inky from margin to stalk top.

Chapeau (5-15 cm) de hauteur, (2-5 cm) de diamètre, cylindrique ou fusiforme, puis campanulé à mesure que le pourtour se liquéfie, couvert d'écailles ou de mèches imbriquées et retroussées, sauf au sommet lisse, blanc, rosâtre vers la marge, parfois ocré au sommet, puis jaunâtre, grisâtre et enfin noir, à marge sillonnée puis lacérée et enfin déliquescente, à chair mince, blanche, sans odeur ni saveur fortes. Lam. libres, très serrées, larges, inégales, blanches, bientôt rosâtres, puis noires et se liquéfiant, floconneuses à l'arête au début.
