Fomitopsis pinicola. ... Upper surface: Caps concentrically grooved; rusty-red with a yellowish margin at first, becoming gray to reddish-brown to blackish-brown or nearly black, often with a sticky, resinous, reddish marginal band.

Polypore marginé. Chapeau : de 10 à 40 cm, en forme de sabot de cheval dont l'épaisseur peut aller jusqu'à 20 cm, zoné concentriquement et irrégulièrement bosselé, de couleur d'abord jaune orangé à orange à marge blanche à l'état juvénile puis devenant fauve à brun rougeâtre ou parfois rouge orangé, ensuite partiellement ou presqu'entièrement couvert d'une croûte vernissée noire à partir du point d'attache.

OBS

Ce champignon n'a pas de lamelle, anneau ni pied. On peut l'apercevoir sur les souches, troncs et branches mortes, principalement sur le bois de conifères mais aussi sur feuillus.
