A glass incubator for eggs which is cylindrical in shape with a circular bottom in which a tube is fitted for the water supply and flow.


Perhaps Oren Chase's single most significant contribution to fish culture was his invention of the glass hatching jar. It was a major step ahead in fish culture, in that it improved and simplified the incubation of the eggs of walleye, whitefish and other species. The device became known as the "Chase Jar." ... With some refinements to the original model, it is still widely used throughout the world.
