Lateral deviation of the trunk caused by muscle contraction pulling the spine to one side. From PRIOP, 1973, p. 402.

CONT

List differs from scoliosis in that the latter is a curvature of the spine of long duration and is seldom accompanied by pain. The direction of the list is of no value in localizing the site of the disorder.

Inclinaison latérale du tronc, convexe du côté de la douleur ou du côté sain. Elle évoque un problème discal le plus souvent en L4-L5, parfois en L3-L4, exceptionnellement en L5-S1. Elle s'accompagne d'une asymétrie des triangles ilio-lombaires avec impression de "hanche plus forte" d'un côté que de l'autre, augmentation du pli de la taille et contracture paravertébrale unilatérale.

CONT

Les attitudes antalgiques latérales réalisent une déviation globale très particulière qui les distinguent des scolioses. Le tronc est déjeté latéralement par rapport au bassin et aux membres inférieurs qui restent équilibrés. Cette déviation n'est pas compensée par une courbure correctrice sus-jacente ce qui porte de ce fait l'aplomb de l'occiput en dehors de l'axe normal passant entre les deux talons ou le long du pli interfessier.
